The due diligence process is the linchpin to a successful merger or acquisition. Cicero utilizes tools to perform initial checks on key factors such as Market Opportunity, Revenue and Costs Drivers, and Outlook & Growth. We then will perform checks on the target company to ensure that everything is in order. These checks include looking into Financial Operations, Sales and Marketing, the competitive landscape and performing a SWOT analysis. After the target company is fully vetted a recommendation is given on the value of the target company and likely growth outcomes of a merger or acquisition. We want to ensure that both companies succeed and there are optimal synergies between the two.

Data-driven strategy is what Cicero does best. We start with helping a business develop a corporate strategy that is fueled by sustainable growth. We then utilize an array of analyses to determine opportunities in the market for expansion through acquisitions or mergers. We determine which moves will deliver the biggest bang for the buck. After we deliver a clear-cut pathway, we work with management to determine the next steps in making their business succeed.
As with many processes in business, the key to successful implementation is the planning. We understand what it will take to merge companies but we also understand that there is not a one-size-fits-all plan for each situation. We capitalize on our combined knowledge to create a plan specific for the companies to quickly and effectively create synergy through integration. Once the planning is completed the real work starts. After all, a plan is only as good as the execution. We lead the follow-through to build upon the merger plan and pivot where needed. We understand that a merger can be a challenging time for many in the company. Based on our experience and relationships, we dedicate time to ensure the right people are in the right places, the proper channels of communication are set in place and a singular culture is built.
