Note: Over the next months I’ll be posting interviews with a number of key members of the Cicero team here and on my LinkedIn account. Stay tuned!
How do you spend your time outside of work?
Most of my free time now is being spent taking care of our 2-month old newborn. I’m hoping we can get him sleeping through the night in time for football season, so I can be rested and ready to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!
What did you do pre-Cicero, and what brought you to the firm?
Prior to Cicero, I had just completed a business undergraduate degree. When interviewing with potential employers, Cicero stood out as firm that would provide interesting and engaging work at the same time as providing a great work-life balance. I wanted to work for a high horsepower consulting firm, while still having time to come home and cook dinner with my family.
What are some interesting things you’ve been working on lately?
I most recently finished up a project working for a large chemical manufacturer in which we identified top-line growth opportunities through a mix of products and geographies. We love helping clients see the power of data and how data-driven decision making can illuminate answers to key business questions.
What else makes Cicero a great place to work?
Each month, we have some sort of company activity or event. It’s a great opportunity to unwind and better get to know the people you work with. Last month, we rented out an entire movie theater and the month before that we had a company-wide golf tournament.
For fun, any book/movie/music recommendations?
If you love sports and economics, I would definitely check out Moneyball if you haven’t yet. One of my favorite quotes from the movie is when Billy Bean says, “I hate losing. I hate it. I hate losing more than I even wanna win.” In terms of the radio, I usually am listening to either the Mike and Mike or The Herd podcasts.
