The client has long been at the forefront of internet technologies, pioneering the way that computers and people connect with one another and public sector sales represent nearly one-quarter of the client’s total $48 billion in annual revenue. As internet technologies continue to evolve, the client has led ground-breaking efforts to connect people, data, and things in new and innovative ways that are helping public sector entities capture part of the more than $4 trillion in efficiency gains and new service development that the technologies make possible.
In order to develop a roadmap of public sector success with internet technologies, the client engaged Cicero in a thought leadership research project to better understand how public sector entities think about, build, and implement new internet connections, architectures, and systems to better provide services and information for their constituents. As part of the project Cicero conducted multi-lingual, global research across five continents, thirty countries, and ten languages. A key component of the engagement was identifying, recruiting, and interviewing senior-level government officials with responsibility for technological infrastructure and applications. Cicero engaged government leaders at the municipal, provincial, and federal level to better understand how they are implementing “Internet of Everything” technologies in their jurisdictions.
From these interviews and research Cicero developed a strategy report containing strategic guidance for the client in how to help public sector entities develop and enhance technological solutions to a myriad of public sector challenges, such as traffic management, energy conservation, citizen engagement, and next generation education.
