We are privileged to serve a wide variety social sector organizations nationally and globally. From building leadership development courses with former Presidents of the United States to assisting NGOs in fighting poverty in the developing world, we assist our clients in solving society’s most complex challenges.
Areas of Growth
We have extensive experience in school turnaround and transformation, program evaluation, and professional development with clients ranging from small to large school districts to state offices of education.
The changes within and challenges of healthcare in the United States cut across sectors and systems. We have worked with a variety of organizations in this space, including those serving disadvantaged populations (Terry Reilly Health Services), increasing access to insurance (Avenue H), providing core medical care (Intermountain Healthcare), and delivering life-saving supplies and care overseas (Medical Teams International).
Attention to the educational, extracurricular, and career readiness outcomes of youth is growing, particularly for Opportunity Youth. We have worked with organizations on the cutting edge of this trend, including team members’ previous experience with the National Academy Foundation and a recent project with the Pikes Peak United Way.
Several of our team members have extensive work and living experience overseas, including Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Whether in nutrition and education (Mary’s Meals), agriculture, or community engagement, we understand intimately the unique challenges of development work.
Entrepreneurship and Microfinance
Our team members have years of experience helping entrepreneurs in low-income areas develop their abilities and their businesses. For example, Jacob Allen helped design the strategy and run the measurement system for Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Women and 10,000 Small Businesses initiatives. And Tom Steele led a team to interview hundreds of entrepreneurs in Nicaragua and Guatemala for an impact evaluation of Cause for Hope.
Corporate Social Responsibility
With experience serving some of the largest, most impact-oriented corporations in the country, we understand the challenge of balancing results for the business, for employees, and for society.
Impact Investing & Pay for Success
While it’s a surprise to some, Salt Lake City is located at the heart of one of the country’s top impact investing hubs. We’ve partnered with and support the efforts of the Sorenson Center for Global Impact Investing as well as the government and civic organizations engaging in the nation’s second pay for success project. As such, we understand the nuances associated with investing for multiple bottom lines.
Arts & Culture
It’s no longer news that many arts and culture organizations face an increasing struggle to maintain membership activity and donations. We help organizations such as Opera Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Zoo address this challenge by combining rigorous analysis of donor and patron attributes, values, and interests with data-driven approaches to program design and innovation. The result—increased attendance, patronage, and funding.
